JAC Woodwork is a one-man shop based in McAllen, Texas, built on hard work, creativity, and a genuine love for making things by hand.

How It All Began

My woodworking journey started back in 2020, during the height of COVID. With extra time on my hands and something I needed to build, I decided to make it myself. I didn’t realize it then, but that simple project would open the door to something much bigger.

What began as a way to stay busy quickly grew into a passion. I’ve always loved working with my hands, and woodworking gave me the same satisfaction I felt throughout my life as a chef and later as a mechanic in the oilfields. Before long, I posted a few photos and ads online — and suddenly strangers were reaching out, asking me to build custom pieces for their homes, their loved ones, and even their schools.

Growing Through the Work

Over the years, each project has taught me something new. My skills improved, my confidence grew, and yes… the tool collection got a little bigger too. Every piece I’ve built has helped shape the shop into what it is today: a place where craftsmanship, problem-solving, and creativity come together.

A New Chapter

In August 2025, I was laid off from my job in the oilfields. Instead of starting over somewhere else, I decided it was time to bet on myself. I chose to pursue this craft full-time — not just as a hobby or a side job, but as a true business and a dream worth chasing.
